Aquifer Storage and Recover (ASR) wells are included when they are functioning to store public potable water supplies. The WRPAs around public potable water supply wells are based on hydrologically modelled ten-year travel times plus an additional 500-ft buffer which were determined to give a degree of protection from identified sources of potential ground water contamination.
