Description: PWWPAs consists of property located within a 500-foot radial setback distance around potable wells that are used for human consumption and designated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as Community or Non-Transient Non-Community potable wells. The 500-ft radial setback provides surface and subsurface protection measures to the ground water source around the potable water wellfields. Lands located in a PWWPA are subject to the restrictions and prohibitions found in Chapter 62-521.400 Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), as amended. Chapter 62-521 F.A.C. requires compliance with location of certain land uses and activities. The Wellhead and Surface Water Protection regulations of Unincorporated Hillsborough County can be found in the Hillsborough County Land Development Code Part 3.05.00.

The source data was edited by Hillsborough County Environmental Services Division to create the Hillsborough County PWWPA Wells layer. Hillsborough County Environmental Services Division created a 500-ft radial buffer layer around each PWWPA Well, called the PWWPAs.
